What's really weird is how the launcher looks like a spaceship but not a spaceship from the show.
Rubber Vipers and cardboard cutouts of Cylon Raiders. Plus the ludicrous premise that you shoot your fighters at other fighters and try to collide with them. "Thanks, grandma!"
One thing I like about the old Kenner commercials is that the kids are typically shown using other props to support their toy adventures (e.g., using a trash can to simulate a "black hole" with the Black Hole toy line). Today's commercials feature highly elaborate play environments, completely removing any opportunity for imagination. I love that we used to spend hours creating bases (more time than we spent actually playing).
