I recently purchased this DVD set, which has tons of cool vintage commercials on it. One section entitled "toys" advertised these "Ding-A-Lings". I think they look awesome and I'm going to look into finding them. Check out the ad,

OMG! Just had one of those weird moments. I was thinking I'd never seen these weird toys before ever and then I realized I had.
Remember a kid named Maxwell Kahn? (Hmm. He might have moved away before the Hampden Meadows/Sowamms merge, so you wouldn't.) I played in his basement only once, and he had the King Ding! Except what he really had was the box, the little Brain guy, one or both of King Ding's arms and maaaaybe part of his body. I recall playing the "well, you can have the big guy and I'll play with the Brain here" card, which was a scam because King Ding was hopelessly in pieces. But I loved that brain guy. I haven't thought of that in years.
I totally remember that kid! We went to Sowams (sp?) together. That's so random that we both stumbled upon this rare toy on the same day!
