Unproduced Death Star Battle Electronic Game

This is a handmade prototype to a Parker Brothers electronic game planned at the time of Return of the Jedi. It consists of a full scale range finder as used by Luke to target the Death Star in A New Hope. When powered by batteries, the game shows images to recreate the Death Star battle. The box was made as a mock up for the toy. This is the only finished prototype of this game that was made at the time of Return of the Jedi. The toy itself is a painted hardcopy with hand cut decals, metal parts, and screws. It's completely functional and powered by C cell batteries.

They should make this now with today's technology. I'm sure back in the day this would've sucked big-time. I just want the toy regardless of whether or not it works.

Quoi? That thing looks like Luke's binoculars, not that targeting hoodad that bonks that dude in the visor after he says "switch all power to front deflector shields, switch all power to front deflector shields."

After all, doesn't Luke rather famously NOT use his targeting computer?

I think I can be happy with my Hoth binocular slide viewer.

I totally thought it was the Hoth binocular slide viewer whenI first saw the pix. I bet it totally is! You know Kenner's penchant for using and re-using old molds.
