Woo Hoo! Octopunk's last box arrives

I mailed four boxes to myself when I was in RI last month; the first three arrived the following week and the fourth one took three weeks to get here. And the gorillas managed to break the casing on my Cuisinart, dammit! And I don't care how gay that sounds.

The good news is my toys all arrived safely, including the glorious Thunder Cab pictured above (pic snagged from eBay since I don't have a camera anymore). The rest of the box was filled with my action figures that don't belong to vast categories like Star Wars or Marvel. This endears them to me in a special way, because I think it's the strange nooks and crannies of a collection that really reflect the collector.

Whatever, I'm glad they're here. The only action figures left in my East Coast storage space are the handful of Disneys, all the Alien related ones (in a box with the Alien Queen Playset), and some others I threw in the Alien box because they had antennae atop their heads and that box had lots of room at the top. No squishy antennae! Basically it's a few Antz figs and NM-E, guys like that.

Of even more note, the bulk of the figs' accessories still languish in the dark. It's amazing how many figures just don't cut the same slice of cool without their stuff. You can bet your ass I won't use the Post Office for that haul.

That's so true about figures not being as cool without the accessories. I have all the 12-inch Bounty Hunters but I'll be damned if I can find where I put all their guns. Without the weapons they just look sad, especially Dengar.

That cab is cool, it makes me want to take mine out of the box. Did you get the other vehicle (Shadow car) from that set?

I was never that taken with the other car, despite the similar old style. The Thunder Cab is bizarre; it has absolutely no connection to the movie and it's a beeyootiful toy, one of my favorites, and the rest of the line was crap! So weird, but in a good way.

Like the Alien Queen Playset. That was the only cool thing from that collection. what other toy lines only produced one cool thing?

Starship Troopers had those crap-ass figures and then the Warrior Bug toy that went with them, which was awesome (I have 2).

The new Flash Gordon had that Dale Arden figure that I like, and that goofy Ming's throne thing I bought 7 of.

I'd put NM-E on that list, although I know you got some of the others.

There were some other worthy entries in the Aliens line. That Alien from the Alien/Predator 2-pack was great, and the Panther and Boar Aliens were fun.

Ooh! I just remembered. In addition to the figures I mentioned that are still in storage, the "boring" ones from Star Wars are still there, too. All the humans, that is. Sitting in my extremely dilapidated carrying case.

What? You mean to tell me that poor black-Bespin guard is still in Rhode Island while all the crackers get to enjoy the good weather of Cali? Once again the black man gets the shaft.

Yeah, NME was the only good figure from that set.

Oh yeah, right, like the caucasian Bespin Guard is so great, with that little mustache.

Imagine my suprise, when a few weeks ago I am searching for legos for my daughters upcoming B-day, and on a legoland website I see a name I remember from the distant past. Mr. Cross, it is Jamie Williams from the days before you were famous for creating lego masterpieces. How are you young man? I actually had to create a blog to get a username to leave a message here...I never even read a damn blog before, but since I wanted to say hi, and god forbid you should have a phone number listed in the phonebook, a blogger I have become.

Jamie! What a surprise! I was going to put a comment on your blog but you haven't posted anything. Are you checking this post? Hello?
