Longshot

And here's your damn Longshot figure, Summerisle. Looks like they got his number of fingers right (he's got 4 on each hand, counting thumb). In the comic that bandolier he's wearing was full of weighted throwing blades, much like that one in his hand but obviously much smaller. This is from the era when Toybiz was making good figures, although this character was never really all that great. He's got a mullet, for one thing.

He looks like a repaint of Cable. Man, those figures really don't hold up, do they?

Yeah, that figure is rather lame. I used to think he was the coolest. I actually stopped reading X-Men when he left the gang (I think he was thrown into an alternate universe or something). I was furious. But what the hell was I thinking? He looked like an 80's aerobic instructor and his super power was luck.

Re: holding up...according to one eBay auction, this fig is from 92, which would be shortly before what I consider Toy Biz's heyday. But really, he's not that bad a figure, he's just based on a boring character. The execution is okay.

The paint on the face looks bad - I hate shiny paint. It makes it look like one of those cheap bootlegs you find in those strange little curio shops. I actually saw one such shop in San Francisco.

I thought the shiny was coming from the flash, but I'll agree that the thing that kills this figure is his goofy face.
